1/3/25. Had some cocktails at the bar. The personality of the bartender, Shane, and the cosmos didn't do it for me. However, our server (John Lentini) came through, and made our night. Service was great and he recommended a few wines. The Robert Foley Claret was top tier and the Luger wine was pretty decent. We started with the lobster, then the steak, creamed spinach and well done german fried potatoes. Each dish was delicious, and cooked perfectly. For dessert, we had to get the schlag. Can't go wrong. We also ordered the cheesecake and chocolate cake.
Went for my sister's birthday and loved literally everything about this place. Started with drinks at the bar, which were great. Service is spectacular. The drinks are fantastic. Thinking about the food now is making my mouth water. Just the most delicious steak. Can't wait for the next special event!
Amazing experience with the best waiter ! I did not get to catch his name but I had a lovely dinner to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. We got the caesar salad with bacon, and porterhouse for 2 to share. The bacon goes extremely well with the steak sauce and the caesar salad was fantastic!!Seriously the best caesar salad I've had in such a long time. Creamed spinach was our choice of side that we also shared. The steak was cooked to perfection, medium rare but it ends up getting cooked more on the hot plate. We had some leftovers from our meal. For dessert, we got key lime pie and pecan pie - both yummy! In all, loved our dinner and would recommend if you enjoy eating steak. Not sure why Peter Luger sometimes gets bad reviews because I always enjoy my meal when I come!
Busy night at Lugers, everything once again, perfect. Starting with a bread basket impossible to resist. Starters of salads, bacon and shrimp, followed by those crave-worthy lamb chops, and some salmon and steak for entrees. Splitting of pecan and pecan pie and that so-so coffee. Service is perfect, seated in the front dining room which we love so much. No new pics to add as I've hit my Yelp limit - nothing new anyway! Consistently consistent.
It's so good! I can 't imagine how much regret it would be if I missed the bacon snack! It's mine now
This might cause controversy but I think the meal I had here was better than the one I've had in Brooklyn! Maybe because it was less busy and we had lunch instead of dinner? I know this isn't the original but it's definitely one of the better options for steak! We also got to try the burger which was pretty much still mooing but it was super tasty! For 5 adults and 3 kids, we got a couple slices of bacon, a burger, a salad, 2 steaks for 2 (he recommended doing it this way instead of steak for 4 to get more meat) and a salmon for the kiddos. Sides: mushroom, asparagus, cream spinach, fries. Dessert: key lime pie, pecan pie, 2 sundaes. We were stuffed and I ate A TON of steak. This is the real deal if you want some good beef!
Couldn't go out tonight so my sister DoorDash a nice bday from Peter Luger. It was so good! Ordered on a Saturday night around 6:30pm prime time dinner and it was done pretty quick. This was actually my first time trying the place and all of it was pretty good. Only thing was steak a bit over cooked to my liking asking for medium rare and came out between medium to medium well done. But it was take out so can't expect too high. Steak was so soft and buttery, cream spinach was good and German potatoes were tasty. Oh and must get apple strudel. So good! Highly recommend and def want to try again but next time will dine in!
I know some people say Peter Luger is overhyped..and there are better steakhouses. And while that may be the case, Peter Luger never disappoints, they are consistent and delicious. We arrived and had to wait in the bar area which is always the worst, but once we got seated things got better. Our server was fantastic and attentive. The food was amazing, and the ambiance was great. I will be back.
We had a reservation for 7:45 but then changed it to 8 as we were running late. The thing I liked was when we called, they said drive safe, we'll hold your table. When we arrived, it was very busy and packed with people waiting. The took us straight to the back bar to wait for our table with others waiting as well. Apparently they aren't holding reserved table. It's ok because they were very gracious. We ordered a drink to take the edge off! We were seated after about 15 minutes and the wait staff quickly attended to us and brought bread, butter and the signature sauce. My table mates were quick to start with the sauce. It was my first time and I was happy with the butter! We ordered steak for three, medium rare. It was perfectly seasoned and cooked. We also had the creamed spinach and grill asparagus. Both were very tasty. We also ordered the shrimp cocktail for an appetizer. The shrimp were HUGE! All of the food served was plentiful and we had take home. My dog was also lucky to get two bones out of the deal. We all ordered dessert, I had the apple strudel. We took them home as we were stuffed. However I ate the apple strudel the next day and it was absolutely the best apple anything I have ever had and I love apple pie. I definitely recommend Peter Lugers and this may have been my first but not my last visit.
